Fusing radical librarianship with social responsibility, the Drexel PLG is committed to equality, justice and accountability both in the library and in the community.
The Progressive Librarians Guild was started in NYC in 1990 by a group of librarians dissatisfied with the "dubious alliances with business and the information industry" and to resist the notion of the neutrality of librarianship.
The Drexel student chapter began in early 2008 to further these same goals and to collaborate with other radical groups on campus to contribute to the broader activist community in Philadelphia.
